Patient advocacy is an important tool in communicating and calling for specific policy measures to be taken to secure Alpha-1 patients’ lives. However, it is also true that it is this vulnerability that adds an extra layer of difficulty in standard advocacy efforts, particularly given the pandemic.
While the current situation brings obstacles such as the restriction of physical meetings and outreach, it also presents opportunities for virtual patient advocacy. In the webinar, we will discuss how to work through the current situation to conduct a successful patient advocacy campaign.
Patients need to be their own best advocate for their health care treatments. By providing an easily accessible education platform, such as a webinar, further cooperation between national organisations will be encouraged. Through this event, national advocates will be also encouraged to share experiences, best practices, and lessons learned in the COVID-19 pandemic.
