Alpha-1 Foundation Announces Passing of Co-Founder and Director Emeritus John W. Walsh
The Alpha-1 Foundation is deeply saddened to announce that our Co-founder and Director Emeritus John W. Walsh passed away earlier today surrounded by his loving family.

John touched the lives of countless people through his commitment to finding a cure for Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency and improving the lives of people affected by Alpha-1 worldwide.
He was also Co-founder of AlphaNet as well as Co-founder and Director Emeritus of the COPD Foundation, which he served as its first president. He was internationally recognized for his pioneering efforts and dedication to improving health, promoting worldwide detection and finding a cure for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
Our hearts go out to his wife Diane, daughter Linda, granddaughter Lily and extended family. We at the Foundation will continue to honor John by relentlessly pursuing his vision and continuing the work he so wholeheartedly embraced.
